The nearest airport is Granada which is a 45 minute drive away.  Ryan Air fly there from Stansted in the UK.  From Granada, follow signs to Motril and from Motril, take the E15 towards Almeria. Come off at Castell De Ferro. Follow signs for Lujar and Rubite.  The road will take you past a yellow petrol station and then along past a dry river bed.  You keep to the road until you reach a bridge, turn left sign posted to Lujar and Rubite.  At the next bridge, just Lujar is signed. Cross the bridge, a house will be at the bottom of the mountain on your right. This is the road to Lujar and it will take you up past a farm with plastic sheeting over a large vegetable plot and after that, it's about 10 minutes to drive up to the village. Be careful in the early evenings as there are herds of goats and sheep crossing the road.

Almeria is approximately 1 hour and 20 mins away.  Malaga is 1 hour 45 mins away.

The E15 is the coastal road  and will be signed from both air ports. At Castell De Ferro, take the turn off for Lujar and follow the instructions as above.

There is a local bus service which runs from  Lujar to Motril but this is not dependable.  It really is necessary to hire a car for your stay.  If people are joining the group at a later date, they can take a bus from Malaga, Almeria or Granada to the central bus station at Motril or Castell De Ferro where the bus stop is opposite the Bar Andaluz.  See timetables found on Andalucia.com
