The Casita

  • A 2 bedroom Casita, in a traditional white, mountain village sleeping four with the option of two more on a futon.

  • 15 mins drive to beach.

  • 5 mins walk to communal village swimming pool, tennis and basket ball courts and football pitch.

  • I hour 45 mins drive from Malaga. 60 mins from Granada and 90 mins from Almeria.

  • 60 mins to the Alhambra and the ski resorts of the Sierra Nevada.

Although The Casita has large terraces and play pools, the village pool is free
and only a few minutes walk from the house

The Casita is entered via a mule path called Calle Santa Cruz. It’s up and around a couple of bends and steps in the path and then it’s the first door on the left.  It has a stable door with a china lantern above it and geraniums each side of it.

The hallway is just large enough to store a couple of bikes and the bedrooms and bathroom lead off it.

The RED ROOM has 2 twin beds and 2 windows, one overlooking the terrace with a view of the sea. There’s a ceiling fan

The BATHROOM has a full size bath with a shower over it.

The PINK ROOM is the oldest room in the house

and has the original beamed ceiling and a log burning stove. There’s a ceiling fan although with two windows, you get a nice breeze.

An arch leads into the

KITCHEN with gas cooker, microwave, kettle, toaster, washing machine, fridge freezer and tiled breakfast bar with four stools.

The kitchen is open plan to the SITTING ROOM  which has traditional Andalusian sofas, a tv, dvd and cd player.

...

There is a raised DINING AREA with a table and chairs and a double futon. There are various novels, DVDs, CDs and games.  Feel free to keep a book from The Casita (but not the house) if you are half way through it , just leave another one in it’s place.

All the rooms have radiators or electric fires.

A door from the kitchen leads to the DINING TERRACE with table and chairs. There is retractable sun canopy to provide shade and a clothes dryer. There is a sea view and a  large, pink bougainvillea.

A spiral staircase (careful with young children) leads from the dining terrace to the large UPPER TERRACES.

Half of the upper terrace has a cane roof to provide shade, this is separated from the other top terrace by steps and a sunken flower bed.

There are two wooden sun loungers, two fold up sunbeds and two deck chairs. There’s a small paddling pool and play tent for children and an extremely large paddling pool if requested.  There are stunning views of the mountains and the sea – and even Morocco on a good day.

A cot is available, a stair-gate and a ‘fabric-high chair’ for a toddler. All linen and towels are supplied, but these must be left in the house so bring your own beach towels. There are various mats, toys and beds to take to the beach – just replace with similar if they get lost or damaged.

Around the corner from the Casita, approached on the lane sloping up from the road, lies the main house. Though attached to The Casita at the back, there is no entry from one to the other, you have to go via the street:... Casa Azul
